Group Costs
We keep Scouting as affordable as we can. A year of Scouting with us costs £140 per young person — that's the full cost for the whole year, covering the weekly programme. To make it easier to budget for, we spread it across 10 payments, but you're welcome to pay the year up front if you'd prefer. Here's exactly what it costs and what it covers.

Joining? Your first few sessions are free
When your child joins, your first payment isn't collected until the end of the following month. For example, if they start in September you pay nothing until the end of October — so their first few sessions are effectively free while they settle in and make sure Scouting is right for them.

Camps, trips & events
Camps, day trips and special events are charged separately from your monthly subs. Every event is priced individually, and you'll always know the full cost before you sign up — you only ever pay for what your child attends.
Priced per event
Each camp or trip is costed on its own, and confirmed when invitations go out.
Paid through OSM
Event payment requests come through Online Scout Manager, the same place as your subs.
Kit lists provided
Every camp comes with a kit list — most of what you need you'll already have at home.

We never want cost to be the reason a young person misses out on Scouting. If subs or event costs are difficult, speak to your section leader or email us in confidence — support is available and it will always be handled discreetly.

Subs are collected at the end of each month by Direct Debit through Online Scout Manager. You'll be invited to set this up when your child joins — after that it's completely automatic.
Prefer to pay ahead? You can also use Online Scout Manager's Pay Now option to manually pay any future payment early, instead of waiting for it to be collected — handy before camps, or if you'd rather settle things in advance.
