Raise free funds for the 144th with easyfundraising
You can now support the group every time you shop online — at no extra cost to you. Sign up to easyfundraising and over 8,000 retailers will donate to the 144th when you buy through them.
We’re always looking for ways to fund great Scouting without asking families for more money. Here’s one that costs you nothing at all: the 144th is now signed up to easyfundraising, and our cause page is live.
What is easyfundraising?
easyfundraising is a free website and app that turns your everyday online shopping into donations for the group. Over 8,000 retailers — including Amazon, Argos, John Lewis, eBay, M&S, Sainsbury’s, Boots, Currys, ASOS, Uber Eats, Booking.com, TUI, Sky, BT and the big insurance and energy comparison sites — will donate a small percentage of whatever you spend to the 144th.
It costs you nothing. You pay exactly the same price you always would; the donation comes out of the retailer’s marketing budget, not your pocket.
How it works
- Sign up for free — go to our cause page and join. It takes about two minutes and the 144th is already selected for you.
- Shop as normal — when you buy something online, start at easyfundraising (or let the Donation Reminder or the app do it for you) and click through to the retailer.
- We get a donation — the retailer sends the group a free donation automatically, and easyfundraising pay it across to us every three months.
What could it actually add up to?
More than you’d think. These are real examples published by easyfundraising, and none of them involve spending a penny more than you already would:

Across a full year of ordinary shopping, easyfundraising put one supporter’s total at £368.75. Donation rates change from time to time — these figures were correct as at December 2024 — so treat them as an illustration rather than a promise. But the point stands: this genuinely adds up.
Never miss a donation
The only thing that catches people out is forgetting to start at easyfundraising. Two things fix that, and you only set them up once:
- The Donation Reminder — a browser add-on that spots when the site you’re already on will donate and lets you activate it in one tap. It works with Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox and Samsung Internet.
- The easyfundraising app — free on iOS and Android, with reminders built in and a running total of what you’ve raised.
Where the money goes
Every penny raised comes straight to the 144th. It goes towards discounting the cost of camps, buying badges, running events, and replacing and repairing equipment — the things that keep Scouting affordable and adventurous for every young person in the group.
Please pass it on
This is the part that makes the real difference. easyfundraising isn’t only for parents and carers — grandparents, aunts and uncles, godparents, neighbours, friends and colleagues can all sign up and raise for the 144th, whether or not they have a child in the group. Ten more supporters shopping as they normally would is worth far more to us than any one family could manage alone.
