Trustee Board Trustee

General Trustee

Bring whatever you're good at to our Trustee Board — finance, property, a level head — and help keep the 144th thriving. A few hours a quarter.

Quarterly board meetings

Our Trustee Board keeps the Group safe, legal and financially healthy — and we’d love more people around the table. General Trustees bring their own skills and perspective to help the Group run well.

What you’d be doing

  • Attending Trustee Board meetings (roughly quarterly)
  • Helping make decisions on finances, safety, premises and strategy
  • Lending your particular skills — whether that’s being good with money, knowing your way around property or IT, sorting fair processes for people, or simply bringing good judgement to the table

Who it’s for

This is a non-uniformed governance role — no weekly sessions, and you don’t have to work directly with young people. Whatever your background, if you can give a few hours a quarter and want to support Scouting in your community, we’d love to hear from you. It’s a great way to contribute if regular evening volunteering isn’t for you.

That said, taking this on doesn’t shut the door on anything else. If you find you’d like to get more involved — even helping out directly with our young people — you’d be very welcome to. It’s entirely up to you: the more you put in, the more you get out of Scouting.

We’re a Baillieston-based Group in Glasgow’s East End, meeting at St Andrew’s Church hall on Bredisholm Road. (It’s a church hall, but Scouts is open to everyone — all faiths and none. We’re an inclusive group, not a religious one.)

Full induction and support provided, and your PVG/Disclosure check is covered.
