Trustee Board Trustee

Trustee — Chair of the Board

Use your board-level head for good — lead the Trustee Board that keeps the 144th safe, steady and thriving. A few hours a month, real influence.

Quarterly board meetings plus oversight

Every Scout Group has a Trustee Board that looks after its governance, finances and safety. We’re looking for a Chair to lead that board.

What you’d be doing

  • Chairing the Trustee Board meetings (roughly quarterly)
  • Working with the Group Lead Volunteer to set direction and priorities
  • Making sure the Group is well-run, financially healthy and on the right side of the rules
  • Supporting and guiding the rest of the trustee team

Who it’s for

This is a senior, non-uniformed governance role — no weekly sessions, and you don’t have to work directly with young people. It suits someone with leadership, committee or board-level experience (in any field) who can give a few hours a month and help keep the Group on a steady footing.

And taking the Chair doesn’t preclude getting stuck in elsewhere. If you’d like to do more — including working directly with our young people — the door’s wide open. It’s really up to you: the more you put in, the more you get out of Scouting.

We’re a Baillieston-based Group in Glasgow’s East End, meeting at St Andrew’s Church hall on Bredisholm Road. (It’s a church hall, but Scouts is open to everyone — all faiths and none. We’re an inclusive group, not a religious one.)

Full induction and support provided, and your PVG/Disclosure check is covered.
