Squirrel Team Leader
Build something from nothing — lead the launch of our brand-new Squirrel Drey for 4–6 year olds in Baillieston.
One weekly session plus planning, term-time
This is a rare one. We’re launching a brand-new Squirrel Drey for 4–6 year olds — it isn’t running yet — and we’re looking for someone to lead it from the very beginning.
You won’t be stepping into someone else’s routine — you’ll be building it from scratch: setting the tone, planning the first ever sessions, and giving our youngest members their first taste of Scouting. It’s a genuine chance to create something lasting in your community.
What you’d be doing
- Planning and running the weekly Squirrel session (a short, energetic hour of games, stories and simple activities)
- Leading a small team of helpers and Team Members
- Setting up the Drey’s routines, programme and culture as it grows
Who it’s for
You don’t need any Scouting experience — you need enthusiasm, a bit of organisation, and a love of working with young children. If you’ve ever wanted to make a real mark, this is it.
We meet at St Andrew’s Church hall on Bredisholm Road in Baillieston, in Glasgow’s East End. It’s a church hall, but Scouts is open to everyone — all faiths and none. We’re an inclusive group, not a religious one.
We’ll give you full training (including safeguarding and first aid), ongoing support from the wider leadership team, and you’ll never be doing it alone. All training is free, and your PVG/Disclosure check is covered by us.
