Good kit deserves another adventure. Our new Swap Shop is here to help families pass it on.
Outgrown a uniform? Have a pair of walking boots with plenty of miles left in them? Looking for kit for your young person’s next camp?
The 144 Swap Shop is a new noticeboard on our website where you can give away, sell, swap or request Scouting kit. It’s free to use and open to everyone, including families outside the 144th Glasgow Scout Group.

Four ways to take part
- Free: pass something on to another family at no cost.
- For sale: list an item with an asking price.
- Swap: offer an item in exchange for something else.
- Wanted: let people know what you’re looking for.
Uniforms, footwear, outdoor clothing, rucksacks, camping and sleeping equipment, and cooking kit all have a place here. For example, you could offer an outgrown Cub jumper, look for a larger Scout shirt or pass on a spare sleeping bag. These are ideas for listings, not a list of items currently available.
You don’t need something to swap to use the noticeboard. Giving away an item or posting a wanted request is just as welcome.
Getting started is simple
Visit the Swap Shop in the Members section of our website. You can browse the listings and use the filters to narrow down the type of offer or kit you’re looking for.
To add an item, choose Post a Listing and enter your email address. We’ll send you a sign-in link, so there’s no password to remember. Follow the link, confirm your sign-in and add your listing details.
Posting starts with confirming your email address. No account password is needed.
If you’re already one of our families, use the email address the Group normally contacts you on. When the site recognises your address, your listing can go up straight away. Otherwise, a leader checks it first, usually within a day or two. Families from outside the Group are welcome too.
Use My Listings to look after your posts and mark an item as claimed when it’s found a new home.
Making contact
Adults aged 18 or over can post listings and send enquiries. Your email address isn’t displayed publicly on the noticeboard. When you send an enquiry, the site explains the contact information that will be passed to the person who posted the listing so they can reply directly.
The Group provides the noticeboard and introduces people. The two parties arrange collection, any swap and any payment themselves. The Group doesn’t hold or inspect items, handle money or resolve disagreements about an arrangement. Please check the item’s suitability and agree a sensible place to meet.
